Password: Password
Username: Username or admin.
IP address: If you don’t know the login address of your Netgear Router Setup, then it is 192.168.1.1.

Is the default password not working?
In case the default router password is changed by someone else or you have forgotten the new one which has been recently configured, then default password will not work in such cases. The only way left out is to ‘Reset the password’ which can be done by selecting ‘Reset password’ link.
All you have to do is; reset the router to factory default. This will delete all the data stored in the router like username, password and other details related to port forwarding.
Now, we are going to suggest some steps to reset the Netgear WNR1000 password.
  1. First of all, inspect the power cable whether it is connected properly or not.
  2. Turn the WNR1000 back and access the login details.
  3. There is a black button given inside the router which can be pressed with the help of shard tip pen or paper.
  4. Press the button for 10 seconds then release it.
  5. The power light will start blinking reminding you of reset.
  6. Wait till the power light gets stable.
  7. Now disconnect the router from the power supply by unplugging the power adapter. Wait for 20 seconds and connect the router again to the power supply.
  8. Wait till the booting process gets completed.
  9. The router is now reset and all the settings will come to factory default.
  10. Open the web browser of your computer and enter the login address for the router.
  11. Here, you need to enter ‘Username’ in the username field and ‘Password’ in the Password field.
  12. Change the default password again.
How to bring the preferred settings back on the router?
To use the previous settings which you have done before the reset function, enter the existing SSID and password. When you enter the SSID and password, all the custom settings like preferred and DNS servers will be opened on the screen.
Facing problem in accessing the router page?
For some reason, if you have changed the default IP address of your Netgear router or modem and trying to access the router page with the same default IP address, then you won’t be able to make it because the default IP will no longer work once you change it.
To get the gateway details, you can check the IP address from the computer which is already connected to your Netgear modem.
If you want any help, you are free to download the manuals online from the website. Don’t forget to select the model number and version of the Netgear router.
